Endeavour Resource Overview

Last updated March 04, 2024

The Center for Advanced Research Computing’s high-performance computing condo cluster, Endeavour, comprises compute nodes that are dedicated for use by researchers that subscribe to or purchase them. For information on CARC’s Condo Cluster Program (CCP), see the Condo Cluster Program pages.

1 Compute nodes

The CCP offers both an annual subscription-based pricing model and a traditional system purchase pricing model, and the Endeavour cluster includes nodes for both pricing models. Below are the specifications for each model.

1.1 Subscription model

Model CPU cores GHz Memory Price per year
Lenovo NX360 16 2.6 64 GB $800
Lenovo NX360 20 2.6 64 GB $1,000

More information here.

1.2 Purchase model

CARC can order compute resources on your behalf for your research needs. The most up-to-date CPU models are available for purchase. Most CPU models have dual processors, 32 or 64 cores, and can be configured with many different GPU combinations.

Submit a ticket and we will work to accommodate your needs and budget.

2 Job limits

Job limits on Endeavour are more flexible than on Discovery and can be configured on a partition basis, but we still must enforce time limits for system maintenance purposes.

Default run time if no run time is specified: 1 hour
Maximum run time: 14 days
Maximum number of jobs or job steps (running or pending): 100

More information on Endeavour jobs can be found in the Running Jobs user guide.
